Nursery & Reception

Miss Davies

Reception Teacher

Hello, I’m Miss Davies and I am a newly qualified teacher from the University of Worcester which is very close to my hometown in Herefordshire. My University degree was in Early Childhood where I learnt a variety of different ways in which children learn and develop from a young age.
During my PGCE training, I specialised in the Early Years where I taught in Reception and Key Stage 1. I could not wait to gain significant experience and to bring my passion for teaching to life.

Watching children flourish and develop at an early age is very rewarding and I am passionate about creating a secure environment where children are enthusiastic to learn. I also have an interest in reading for pleasure.

Outside of school, I love to travel and enjoy being in the outdoors, exploring and finding new adventures which makes me excited to explore my new surroundings of Bristol.

Miss Sherborne

Nursery Teacher

Hello! I'm Miss Sherborne and I joined Woodlands Academy in September 2021 as the Nursery Class teacher.

I grew up in Bristol and completed my teacher training at Bath Spa University College in 2001, with a specialism in Early Years. I then began teaching at a large primary school in Fishponds, Bristol. I taught in Year 1, Year 2 and the Nursery Class. I then spent time working in a Children's centre as a Lead Teacher before working at a Nursery School in East Bristol.

I have always had a particular passion for Early Years and ensuring quality provision for our youngest learners. Watching children start their education journey and the progress they make is so rewarding and I enjoy fostering their passion for investigation, exploration and independence!

When I’m not at work I enjoy spending time with my 3 children, taking my 2 dogs on walks and visiting new and interesting places. I love to read, watch films and enjoy to bake.

Miss Williams

Nursery Teacher

I'm Miss Williams, I became part of the Woodlands Academy team in September 2018 and I am the Nursery teacher.

I grew up in sunny South Wales and gained my PGCE in Swansea University.

I then went on to teach in a Nursery & Reception class for two years in Wales before moving to Bangkok to become the lead Nursery teacher in an International school. I taught in Thailand for 4 years and have now moved back to Bristol where I am excited to be become part of Woodlands Academy.

My passion and experience is in Early Years education and I love to create an environment where the children feel safe, happy and are given opportunities for exploration and discovery. It is always fantastic to see the great progress Nursery children make throughout the year!

In my spare time I love to travel, attempting to cook and will enjoy exploring my new city of Bristol.
