Year 2 Visits the SS Great Britain

13th June 2018

On Tuesday 12th June, Y2 at Woodlands took a trip to Brunel's famous SS Great Britain in the heart of Bristol's harbour. We found out all about Brunel himself, how he was able to engineer this amazing boat so it was able to travel from Bristol to New York in only a few weeks, and all his other fascinating designs including The Clifton Suspension Bridge and Bristol Temple Meads station. We also experienced life on board the SS Great Britain as a passenger, discovering all the sights and smells that those travelling on the ship would have encountered, and even comforting a poor lady who was feeling very sea sick! Not only did we have a fabulous, interesting day out, but our adults were very proud of our behaviour and attitude during the trip - we all did Woodlands proud!
