Higher Level Teaching Assistant
I am Mrs Richards. I started working in our school in September 2000. I have worked across the year groups from nursery through to year 6. I am also the school librarian.
Outside of school I am happiest when with my family and friends. I love visiting Paphos in Cyprus and spending weekends down in Devon with my husband and two sons. I also love all things Harry Potter!
I’m Mrs Amey, I started working in Year 2 at Woodlands in September 2021. I have 3 years experience supporting teachers and children across KS1, with my main experience in Year 2.
I love to see and encourage the children become independent and flourish as they navigate their way around their own learning.
I am easy going and I like to have a laugh with the children and am often seen around the playground playing catch or running after a tennis ball that’s been hit in the opposite direction to where I’m stood - which amuses the children!
In my spare time, I do a lot of crafting, making things from cards to jewellery. I love spending time with my 3 boys, baking or just chilling out watching a movie (normally Harry Potter). I love to go outdoors just not when its too hot. I also have 3 cats names Scratch, Leela and Batman. I am also a qualified hairdresser.
I'm Miss Cooke and I started working at Woodlands Academy in 2021 after a career change. I had spent 14 years in the aviation industry working as an air hostess. Currently, I am supporting the teachers in year 5 and 6. In addition, I look after reception and year 1 children at lunchtime, which I thoroughly enjoy.
I'm passionate about giving all children equal opportunities to reach their full potential and encouraging special interests.
Being bilingual myself, I like to give that extra attention to those children, whose English is not their first language.
In my free time, I am always on a new adventure with my two children: camping, glamping, road trips, city breaks. I also enjoy scuba diving, kayaking, gardening and teaching my children about nature.
I am Miss Rose and I joined Woodlands Academy as Teaching Assistant in Year 1, in September 2020. I have had experience in different year groups from Nursery, Reception, Year 1 through to KS2, and I enjoy working with children to see them become independent and confident learners.
Outside of Woodlands I like to do yoga, swimming and walking. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
My name is Ms Stone and I work in the nursery class, I started working at Woodlands back in 2015 after working for many years in private day nurseries across Bristol. I am a very relaxed, and laid back person who is very passionate about looking after children, I very much enjoy being part of helping children to flourish, and work towards them becoming happy and confident individuals, it's very important to me that I provide a caring and comfortable environment for all of the children who come to our nursery. I have also experienced working in other areas of the school providing support with speech and language.
Outside of school I love to spend time with my 3 children spending time outdoors with them walking in the woods, or going on day trips to look at the amazing monkeys and orangutans as they are my most favourite thing!
I am Miss Thomas and I came to work at Woodlands Academy in 2016 where I started as an apprentice. I passed my apprenticeship in 2018 and previously worked in year 4 but currently work with year 2. I love working with all ages and watching the children grow in confidence and with their learning.
In my free time I enjoy singing in a barbershop chorus every week and seeing my friends and family. I also love to just sit down with a good book or watch a funny movie!
My name is Miss Vivian and I currently work in Early Years here at Woodlands Academy. I’ve been at the school since 2018 having previously worked in a day nursery and children’s centre and enjoy working with children of this age, introducing them to learning.
When I’m not in school, I enjoy reading and both playing and watching sport. I often spend my weekends either down at Ashton Gate or travelling the country watching Bristol City.
